Tricks to Backup Huawei modem NVitems

Making Backup of the data of your Huawei modem before doing any Flashing.
We are going to use Qualcomm Product Support Tools (QPST) v.2.7.323 is software package used for phones based on Qualcomm chips: UMTS-based phones EF81, SXG75, SFG75, E81 and other (EF82, SL91, etc.). QPST software includes:

QPST Configuration - COM-port selection to work with phone.
EFS Explorer - file manager for phone file system.
Display Capture - screen capture utility for Java-games and video playing.
FTM Application - front end testing.
RF Calibration - front end calibration.
RF NV Item Manager - NV-memory manager (EEPROM).
RL Editor - roaming list settings.
Service Programming - different phone settings.
Software Download - phone flasher.
QCNView - .QCN files viewer, generated by Software Download (Backup menu).
DMProxyWin - QPST ports translation server. Allows to connect to the current phone from another device, which connected to Internet using QPST and DMProxyWin.
Gang Flash Image Application - creates firmware and file system image to use in programmer such as Data I/O ProLINE RoadRunner or Data I/O FlashPAK.

Procedures to follow:

.Download the QPST Software (download link below the post) and install it.
Find out on what port your modem is assigned.
Go to Device manager by using command line by typing the following command below
mmc devmgmt.msc

Open QPST Program
Click Start -> All Programs -> QPST -> QPST Configuration
Click the Ports tab, and then click the button Add New Port
Unchecked the “Show Serial and USB/QC Diagnostic Port Only” to show all available ports.
-highlight the assign port of modem, in this tutorial the assigned port is “Com4″. Click “OK”

-If the port that you select is correct, your Modem name will looks like this:
Highlight the COM4 based on this tutorial but it depends on what port your modem is assigned, and click “Start Clients” and select the “Software Download”
While in Software Download Mode, the port must be the assigned port and if not, click the “Browse” in the right to search for the port. Click the “Backup” Tab and click “Browse” in the right “QCN file” in searching the directory u wish to save the backup file.
Lastly click “Start”
